Headteacher's Welcome Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website of Rattray Primary School. Some of you may already be familiar with our school, others we welcome for the first time.

The basic aim of Rattray Primary School is to provide the best education possible for all our pupils. We are very proud of our school and the warm, positive ethos it provides. Learning is at the heart of everything we do.  We understand the importance of creating an environment which is secure, trusting, productive and happy, where our pupils can achieve their potential through learning experiences that are enjoyable and purposeful, and which take account of an individual’s needs and interests. At Rattray, we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which enhances the all-round development of our pupils. We also recognise the importance of developing the qualities and skills necessary for children to cope and indeed thrive in an ever-changing world.

Rattray is a very special school with a real family feel about it.  You notice our school vision 'together we all can'.  This was developed with parents and pupils and emphasises our focus on working in partnership with parents/carers and our local community. At Rattray we strive to promote and develop our core values which are Learning, Included, Nurtured and Kind.  If you notice, the first letter of these values spell out LINK.  We work hard to help  children make links across their learning and to make sure that we, as a school link with our parent groups, our partner services and our fantastic community.

PB Funding

Please vote for our Parent Council and help all our pupils

Rattray Primary Parent Council has applied for the PKC Locality PB Fund. The aim of the application is to give every child at  Rattray Primary School and Early Childhood Centre the experience of a free school excursion. With rising costs of transport and entry fees, the funding would remove the financial barrier, enabling all children to have valuable experiences that promote learning and personal growth. Find out more about this here Access to Adventure
The public vote is open from Monday 17th February until Sunday 9th March 2025.

A family fun voting session is being held at our school on Saturday 1st March from 10am-12noon. You can also learn about all the other applications at this too.

To vote scan the qr code or visit https://pkc.communitychoices.scot/ to vote.

We will soon be sending voting slips home. Paper votes can be made at Rattray Scotmid, Hatton Road, Rattray or returned to school with your child.

Diary Update Typo

Hello all,

There was a typo in yesterday’s message – apologies. Therefore the wee diary update for next term should have read

As summer barbeque planned for Friday 20th May clashes with our P7 Lendrick Muir trip, we have changed the date.

The summer barbeque will NOW take place on Thursday 22nd May, this is on the same day as our open afternoon, which we hope will be more helpful for parents.

You will receive further details regarding both events nearer the time.

Attached are the updated remaining key dates for the rest of this academic session.
