Welcome to the website of Rattray Primary School

We hope you will find the information contained on our website useful.

Headteacher's Welcome Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website of Rattray Primary School. Some of you may already be familiar with our school, others we welcome for the first time.

The basic aim of Rattray Primary School is to provide the best education possible for all our pupils. We are very proud of our school and the warm, positive ethos it provides. Learning is at the heart of everything we do.  We understand the importance of creating an environment which is secure, trusting, productive and happy, where our pupils can achieve their potential through learning experiences that are enjoyable and purposeful, and which take account of an individual’s needs and interests. At Rattray, we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which enhances the all-round development of our pupils. We also recognise the importance of developing the qualities and skills necessary for children to cope and indeed thrive in an ever-changing world.

Rattray is a very special school with a real family feel about it.  You notice our school vision 'together we all can'.  This was developed with parents and pupils and emphasises our focus on working in partnership with parents/carers and our local community. At Rattray we strive to promote and develop our core values which are Learning, Included, Nurtured and Kind.  If you notice, the first letter of these values spell out LINK.  We work hard to help  children make links across their learning and to make sure that we, as a school link with our parent groups, our partner services and our fantastic community.

Education and Learning Summer 2025 Holiday Offer

We have planned an Education and Learning service wide approach across the teams to support our children and families throughout the school summer holidays 2025.

The available activities on offer for families throughout Perth and Kinross and are split into locality flyers (attached). Some of the activities are ‘open to all’ and do not require pre-registration, just turn up on the day and join in the fun. There are also planned activities which do require pre-registration as numbers are limited in the groups. Please share the flyer widely with families to encourage uptake. Parents/carers can apply directly for the pre-registration sessions using MS form link which can be found on the flyer.

There will be a consultation process with families and staff during and after these sessions to inform how we continue to take this holiday offer forward throughout future school holidays.

Current Enterprise projects

Over the course of the school year, some of older classes have undertaken enterprise projects. This allows the experience of learning about running a business, costings, loss and profit etc. This year’s enterprise projects  have included a P6 puppet show, P7 games afternoon and a P6/7 healthy eating tuckshop. This week two of our other classes P5 and P4/5 will be holding their enterprise projects, detailed below.

Primary 5
All pupils are invited on Thursday 12th June to witness the most spectacular, sensational event of all time. P5’s Amazing Jaw-Dropping Circus!
Tickets are a donation of up to £1 and cash will be collected at the event on the day. We will also be offering our circus snack deal for £1, where you will get juice and popcorn while you watch the show.

Primary 4/5
Primary P4/5 are putting together a festival (Rastonbury)  as their enterprise project on Friday the 13th of June. We are taking pre-orders this week and
collecting money on Tuesday 10th June and Wednesday 11th June  to allow us to hand out tokens for the festival.

1 token is 50p and 3 tokens are £1. There is a maximum of a £2 spend for each child.

At Rattray, we try to keep school costs to an absolute minimum, and we apologise that you are being asked for money again.
However,  we hope you can appreciate the value class enterprise projects brings to school learning. We thank you for your support.
