Welcome to the website of Rattray Primary School

We hope you will find the information contained on our website useful.

Headteacher's Welcome Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website of Rattray Primary School. Some of you may already be familiar with our school, others we welcome for the first time.

The basic aim of Rattray Primary School is to provide the best education possible for all our pupils. We are very proud of our school and the warm, positive ethos it provides. Learning is at the heart of everything we do.  We understand the importance of creating an environment which is secure, trusting, productive and happy, where our pupils can achieve their potential through learning experiences that are enjoyable and purposeful, and which take account of an individual’s needs and interests. At Rattray, we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which enhances the all-round development of our pupils. We also recognise the importance of developing the qualities and skills necessary for children to cope and indeed thrive in an ever-changing world.

Rattray is a very special school with a real family feel about it.  You notice our school vision 'together we all can'.  This was developed with parents and pupils and emphasises our focus on working in partnership with parents/carers and our local community. At Rattray we strive to promote and develop our core values which are Learning, Included, Nurtured and Kind.  If you notice, the first letter of these values spell out LINK.  We work hard to help  children make links across their learning and to make sure that we, as a school link with our parent groups, our partner services and our fantastic community.

Dear Parent/Carer,

Those who complete this can enter a prize draw for a chance to win 1 of 8 £100 Love2Shop e-gift vouchers.

You can access the survey here: https://survey.natcen.ac.uk/ELCparents

The survey will be available until Friday 23rd May 2025. Please feel free to share this survey with other parents or carers of children that you know (e.g. via parent / nursery WhatsApp groups).

CAMHS Understanding and Supporting Your Child

Please find below and attached information from CAMHS regarding upcoming online training sessions for parents/carers about ‘Understanding and Supporting Your Child’.

All behaviour is communication is the saying, but sometimes it can be difficult to understand what children and young people are trying to communicate.  Hard to know what's difficult and how best to support them as a parent/carer?

Over two sessions we aim to support parents and carers to build a deeper understanding of their child's unique profile; their challenges and strengths. Following these sessions, parents will have an opportunity to book on to further sessions around sleep, communication, sensory preferences and processing, big emotions, understanding behaviour, and executive function.

Upcoming sessions to book can be viewed on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/understanding-and-supporting-your-child-3782053?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=creatorshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=odclsxcollection&utm-source=cp&aff=escb

Further information around other useful courses for parents/carers, including Decider Skills and Support with Anxiety and Worries, can be found on our website:  https://www.nhstayside.scot.nhs.uk/OurServicesA-Z/CAMHS/PROD_366303/index.htm
