School BBQ - Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’re really sorry to share that, due to the forecasted weather in Rattray around lunchtime, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel today’s school barbecue.

We appreciate this is very short notice and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We did consider moving things indoors, however with nearly 120 lunches ordered - and expecting at least as many adults again to come and eat with their children - we simply don’t have the space to accommodate everyone comfortably and safely inside.

A full refund will be arranged for all parents who had ordered a meal.
We’re hugely disappointed, particularly as this is the first time we’ve ever had to cancel our summer barbecue. If only we had organised it for last week when the weather was so lovely!
The good news is that our open afternoons will still go ahead as planned:

• Nursery: 12.00 noon
• School: 2.15pm

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Rattray has been chosen as a stop on Nick Morgan’s “No Scotland No Party” World Cup Tour, with a special performance scheduled at the school on Thursday 21st May. All pupils, along with nursery pre-schoolers, are warmly invited to join us for an afternoon filled with music, singing, and the creation of wonderful memories. In the spirit of celebration, we encourage everyone to come dressed in their national colours, tartan, or national football or sporting tops and kits from any country—however, we kindly ask that club football strips are avoided. If you have any Scotland flags or bunting that could be lent to help brighten up the event, your contributions would be most welcome.

Additionally, please note an urgent update regarding sports day. Due to a scheduling conflict, sports day will now take place on Wednesday 17^th June instead of the previously advertised date. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility and look forward to seeing you on the afternoon of the 17^th at Davie Park.
 

Welfare Rights Support

Just a little reminder we will have a Welfare Rights Officer in the school on Wednesday 6th May from 9am to 11am so you can drop-in and have a confidential chat about your circumstances. None of your personal information will be shared with any school staff whatsoever. The Welfare Rights Team are accredited to the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers and cannot share your information without consent.

The Welfare Rights Team provides a free, confidential and impartial welfare rights service with advice, assistance and representation on all aspects of the benefits system and we’d encourage all our families to seek advice on their entitlements. Many entitlements can be paid whilst in work and some are also non-means-tested and income and capital is not taken into account.

May Day Bank Holiday

Just a reminder the school will be closed on Monday 4th May for the May Day Bank Holiday.

Blairgowrie High School Uniform Discount Evening

Blairgowrie High School are holding their annual Uniform Discount and Meet the Headteacher Evening on Tuesday 5 May 4pm-6pm. all information is included on the attached poster.


 

Minikickers

Dear Parent/Guardian, 

Live Active are running Mini Kickers football sessions on a Saturday Morning at Live Active Blairgowrie. Sessions for both 18-36months and 3-5 years children:-
 

• 3-5 years - 10:15 - 11:00 
• 18- 36 months -11:15 - 11:45

It is important that all families are familiar with and regularly access these systems to ensure no key messages from the school or nursery are missed.

St Johnstone FC – Complimentary Match Tickets for Families

We are pleased to share information from St Johnstone Football Club, who have very kindly offered complimentary tickets to primary school families for an upcoming home match.

The match will take place on Thursday 24th April, and St Johnstone FC are keen to welcome families along to enjoy a game together as the football season draws to a close. A letter from the club with further details is attached.

We are aware that this is being shared just before the Easter holiday break, but we hope families may still have time to take advantage of this generous offer.

We hope you have a lovely Easter break and that some of our school community are able to enjoy a day out at the match.
