Mr C Brown

Depute Head

Hello my name is Mr Brown and I am Deputy Head at Rattray Primary. I love getting children thinking and active, and since joining the school in 2016 I have worked at helping children learn how they learn, and developing a “Growth Mindset” that allows them to attack challenges and new learning with hope and support. Part of my job is to make sure that the correct support is available at the correct time for those children who need it. That way we all work to ensure that “Together, We Can”.

Mrs D Johnstone

Principal Teacher

Hi, my name is Mrs Johnstone. I have been teaching for 10 years and have been at Rattray Primary full-time for 8 years. I enjoy teaching all subjects and ages, and I really enjoy taking my choirs to the Glee competition each year. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and reading.

Mrs G Grant

Office Staff

I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Rattray Primary since 2017. The office is a very busy place and the heart of the school, where anything that happens usually starts or ends here. As well as supporting the school and pupils my main job is to support the headteacher and management in ensuring we comply with policies and procedures and maintain proper financial records. For instance I am the treasurer for School Fund. I always enjoy chatting with the pupils when they visit the office and especially love all the special seasonal events that take place. When I'm not in school I'm enjoying time with my own family and especially love adventures to the mountains or walks on the beach.

The most enjoyable aspect of my job is working with the children and watching them develop and progress. My favourite subjects are literacy and expressive arts. Outwith school, I enjoy country pursuits, helping out on my mother’s farm and recently acquired an allotment which is going to be a new and exciting project to undertake! This is my first year at Rattray Primary and I find it to be a friendly, supportive and positive place in which to work.

Ms H Gregg

I love fantasy stories and I am a massive fan of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’. In school, I am known for my love of dragons and I am actually writing my own book about dragons. I hope one day you will all get to read it! In my spare time I love going for long walks to the forests, mountains or beaches with my family.
